SPF 50+ 100% Natural Mineral-based Sunscreen

Because we love all things natural, we only use 100% natural and organic ingredients in order to create skin nourishing mineral-based products. We only use non-nano zinc oxide. This means that the zinc particles are bigger than 100mm and, therefore, can not be absorbed into your skin or bloodstream. It creates a protective barrier on your skin. This makes it not only safe for you, but also for the environment.

The non-nano zinc leaves a slight white shimmer on your skin. Luckily, we also have tinted options. All our products are free of harmful chemicals, preservatives and perfumes.

Extra virgin, organic Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids, which help to keep the skin soft and prevent dryness. It improves the spreadability of the sunscreen, making Zinc Shield sunscreen easier to apply evenly (important for proper coverage). It has a low natural SPF of around 4-5, which adds a tiny boost. It also improves water resistance.

Beef Tallow

The tallow used in our products are rendered from grass fed beef suet, free from antibiotics and growth stimulants. We use tallow because of its amazing benefits for all skin types. Tallow is rich in Viatamin A, D, E and K, which supports skin repair and overall skin health. It nourishes and strengthens dry skin. Tallow is rich in fatty acids that closely resemble human skin oils, so it absorbs well and keeps skin hydrated longer than plant oils. It also helps protect against dryness, wind, and sun exposure by reinforcing the skin’s natural barrier especially when you are outdoors. It gives a creamy, balm-like consistency to our sunscreen. Tallow is less greasy than some oils. It also improves the staying power of the sunscreen.

Beeswax

Beeswax naturally contains small amounts of vitamin A. It also boasts powerful anti-oxidant properties that shield your skin from environmental stressors and free radicals. It’s nature’s armour, defending your skin against the forces of aging and damage. Beeswax forms a light breathable film on the skin that helps lock in moisture and shield against wind, saltwater, and dryness. It also improves water resistancy.

Shea butter

Shea butter is packed with fatty acids, making it excellent for hydrating dry skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties. It also helps to lock in moisture and protect against environmental damage like wind and cold. It’s also rich in vitamin A and E.

Olive oil

Olive oil contains vitamin E and polyphenols, which can help reduce skin stress from sun exposure. It is rich in fatty acids which help keep your skin soft and prevent dryness.
